The Janet A. Ginsburg Chicago Tribune Collection

It happens in the best regulated families

Two panels depict the contrast between the arrival of a cook to a family's home and her departure. In the first panel she is portrayed as an angel with wings as the family receives her in celebration, the second panel has her leaving the home with a devil's tail coming out of her jacket and hooves instead of legs.
